We are still waiting for the electricians. This has not been the most pleasant experience however, here we are and what can we do besides, well, wait? So in the meantime, we have turned our attention back to the outside of the house to prepare it for siding.
Phil and Ben work on installing the last of the flashing.
Lydia inspects their work.
It's been a while since they have worked up here.
They haven't installed the top cap on the railing yet. It will go on after the siding is on the posts.
Oops! Somebody's calculations were just a little bit off.
Thankfully, there were a few leftovers from the railing around the back stairs...
...which looks lovely! Great job Phil!
The last details are done and it's ready for siding!
Inside the house, some of our belongings are slowly making their way up to the house. Remember Moosie Woosie? He is still very much with us having survived several purges of toys in the two years we've been here.
Toys and books are finding their way onto shelves...
... a gift from an older brother is waiting to be hung on the wall.
Toys that have been in storage since we moved are being unpacked.
These games are waiting for more shelves to be installed.
On these sunny fall days, it almost makes the sun pipes seem worth all the trouble they were. Almost.
Hannah is applying the last coat of clear finish to a desk we refinished together.
It turned out great and fits perfectly right where she wanted it. Under the window.
The first of the siding is installed. Also known as a belly band, this will separate the planks of hardie board.
Paying very close attention to details here.
As the sun sets on another day, we are thankful for progress. It wasn't what we planned for this week but we continue to learn to be flexible. Thankful, flexible and patient. That pretty much sums up life right now. And it's all good.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
