The First Signs of Spring

No, there is no grass visible yet. Snow still blankets the ground. It hasn't warmed up yet either, it is still cold and blustery outside. In fact, you wouldn't know that spring is even remotely close by looking at the weather forecast these days. But there is still, a most definite, unequivocal sign that spring is, in fact, just around the corner!!

 Lambs!! 

I love this little ram's markings even if they do make him look slightly more like a goat!

But he is most assuredly a lamb. 

We also had a first for our farm this year!! TWINS!! 

It only takes a few minutes for them to get up and get going!

They figure out where the food is pretty quick too.

It's been a long morning! Time to settle in for a rest.

Everyone agrees!

They are happy in their shelter in the barn but it won't be long until they will be ready to run outside. Hopefully, the snow will start to melt soon. Even the rooster is tired of the snow and has found a new place to perch himself.

But then again, he has always considered himself just a bit above the rest of us.

Another sure sign of spring is that the geese have started laying! They get very grouchy, er rather protective this time of year. They give us amazing eggs though. That is, if you're brave enough to go in there.

Those are huge eggs!

You just need to be able to run fast to enjoy this very filling breakfast!
