Strawberries!!

Nothing says summer like fresh fruit, picked by hand.  We have a family tradition of picking our fruit for the year every summer and right now, strawberries are in season. Who doesn't love strawberry smoothies in the middle of winter? On those cold, dark mornings, they taste just like summer! It isn't always an easy job but it is worth it! And if everybody helps, it can be fun too!

Some years, it's harder picking but definitely not this year!! 

There's always time to be silly!

Pretty soon, we have enough to keep us busy the rest of the day.

They even get a ride back to the barn.

At home, Hannah and I take the kitchen table and Steve takes the sink. We may or may not have stopped for a break of strawberries and cream. Fresh picked, yummy goodness!

These trays are ready for the freezer. Winter smoothies, here we come!

Time to check on our own garden.

Dark clouds are moving in.

Hopefully these clouds will bring some much needed rain and cooler temperatures.

Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
