Siding Part 3

It is taking just about as long to blog about the siding as it did to install it! To say we have been busy is an understatement. One of the first things to go when we get this busy is my computer time. I enjoy documenting our progress so I really miss it when I have to take a break but we have been just about as busy as we can possibly be. Updates will come in spurts as time allows. Thank you for understanding! For those wondering, no we haven't moved yet. We are close though, so very close! We are now waiting for the gas fitter to come and hook the appliances up and turn the gas on. Waiting is extremely frustrating at times but we continue to be thankful for the work that is being done while we wait.

Now, back to the siding....

The next day, we get to see in the light what was accomplished. It looks good!!

Time for the window frames...

...and then the battens.

The battens add more depth and character to the siding. I really like it!

Phil can get in nice and close with the bucket.

One side done...

...and the first piece of siding goes up on the other side.

Maybe this side will go faster because they've had some practice now?

The shingles are all lined up and ready to go.

The second side does go faster! Maybe this is due in part not only to them having more practice, but also to the absolutely gorgeous weather we had. Working in short sleeves in November? How is this even possible?

The sun is gorgeous and warm...

... and makes for some great silhouettes at break time.

Kitty comes to keep me company and enjoy the warm sun too.

It's back to work. Let's get this finished today!

Battens are on, everyone is still smiling, it's been a very good day!!

The last thing to do before quitting is to trim off a bit of the roof that we never got to when we put it up.

A pretty spectacular end to a pretty spectacular day.

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done,
And Your thoughts toward us;
There is none to compare with You.
If I would declare and speak of them,
They would be too numerous to count.

Psalm 40:5
