Soaking up the sun. Ah, that feels good!
Merry surprised us by having 4 kittens. Well, we knew she was having kittens, the surprise was having them on Abby's bed!! Needless to say, a transfer to the box we had ready for her was in order. Quickly.
This isn't exactly a spring chicken and she doesn't have any chicks, I just like chickens.
We've been milking goats for our friends who were away and who also happen to own Riley's parents. This is his momma, isn't she beautiful?
Poppa doesn't seem as excited but he's being a good sport about it. Riley, however, about turned himself inside out!!
Ben plowed the other side of the garden. It does seem rather ambitious now that I see it all done.
I can't wait to plant though!! Have I mentioned that before? We still have a few weeks before it's safe to plant here so these tomato plants are getting a head start inside.
On to the house...
I'm a bargain hunter at heart so I love it when I find a good deal on the buy & sell. This sink will go in the kitchen island.
What a difference with the roof on.
Not everyone gets to have a saw set up in their living room. Lucky me!
Walls are going up.
This side door enters into the laundry room and there is a large closet for jackets. The door to the main floor bedroom/study is right beside the closet.
This is the laundry room and the main floor bathroom. They will be separated by a wall, of course.
Marking out the floor for a closet.
This video starts out at the stairs (that is the bedroom/study on the other side of the wall) and pans to the right where you can see down the hall to the side entrance into the laundry room. Then you see another wall. On one side of that wall will be the bathroom and on the other side is the kitchen. The large opening between the two windows on the far wall will be French doors out to the deck. Finally, around to the living room and back to the stairs. Have I thoroughly confused you yet?
It is definitely spring here and boy, does it feel good. It was Steven's 13th birthday on the weekend and we spent the afternoon together. It was so nice to be outside on such a gorgeous day.
The birthday boy!
A lovely place for a walk.
Photo bomb!
Taking it all in.
Selfie!!
Everything is blooming! (Can you see the bumblebee?)
Father and son.
My boy and me!
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Proverbs 3:1-18

Happy Birthday Steven!
ReplyDeleteThe house looks great. It's finally dried out! (For good, I hope ;) ) All those babies are so cute. Abby & Lydia must be beside themselves.
Thank you!!! Um, yes the girls don't know what to do with themselves. Abby especially. Lydia is still warming up to farm life being our only child to have no memory of living on a farm. Lol but she was very excited to tell me that she walked past a cow pie the other day and didn't even cry!!! A big accomplishment for her!! Abby however was in tears over how cute the kittens are. Aaah, girls!!! Lol
DeleteHappy (belated) thirteenth birthday to your Steven!! How quickly they grow up. :) I like it that you did a little special outing with him...so wonderful! And...all those babies...what fun! Goodness me...that garden is HUGE!! I am happy to help in the house when we come to visit...but, weeding....hmmmm....perhaps that can be a *kid chore*....what do you think? ;-) Happy spring to you! XOXO
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes, weeding isn't my favourite thing either but I'm finding it more therapeutic as I get older. Of course, it could just be because I feel like I haven't actually had a garden in forever (4 years but feels like forever) so it might just be a serious case of spring fever. Talk to me in a couple months and we'll see if I'm still as ambitious! We may just be sitting at the lake when you come! THAT sounds like fun!! :-)
DeleteOoohhh...the lake? Perfect. However...I am willing to be useful...we'll have to talk details soon. XO
DeleteYes, details!! Sounds great!! :-)
