When they forecasted warmer temperatures this week, they weren't kidding!!
Seriously, how is anyone supposed to work in this heat?
We've been able to work in the garden, despite the heat. The potatoes are in.
Hannah and Steve got a job cutting the lawn at the neighbourhood community hall.
Meeting a new friend.
Somehow, I recognize the look on this momma's face.
Pretty sure these two aren't going anywhere. Especially if Abby has a say.
Matt is making good progress on this side of the porch.
If you wonder why I always take pictures from this angle...
...it's because I'm standing on top of this hill of dirt.
Starting down the next side.
How many boys does it take to...never mind. Hehe
Putting more wrap on the outside.
Meanwhile inside, the wall is going up for the master bedroom. Can you see three doors on that wall? The first on the left is the door to the bedroom, the middle door is the closet and far right is the door to the bathroom.
Finished for the day. Always more than we thought but never as much as we'd like.
We'd like to put the deck roof trusses on before we put any windows in for safety reasons which means we need to finish the deck because it will hold the posts which will hold the trusses up. Phil would prefer to finish one job completely before moving on to the next but it doesn't always work that way. The framing needs to be finished so the electrician and the plumber can get in soon. The deck has become a priority so we can put the windows in. See what I mean? It's like a puzzle.
Other things we'd like to see crossed off the list soon are..... We've had the heat guy (we are going to go with this system) and the fireplace guy out and we are still waiting on exterior doors. We need to have the excavator back to dig the septic field and dig the trench for the water lines. When Phil is working on a house at work, there will be multiple trades working on a house at any given time. Here, it's just us. It will be, and already is, taking much longer than a "regular" house. But we knew that. And for the most part, we're ok with that. It does tend to consume most of our thoughts. I compare it with the last weeks of pregnancy when that's all you can think about. And when people ask how it's going, you wonder if they really want to know. :-)
We keep at it though, wall upon wall, line upon line, a little here, a little there. We rejoice when there's an accomplishment and we are frustrated when something doesn't go the way it's supposed to. Whether it's out of our control OR whether it's our own mistake. We laugh. We cry. We live.
Life. It's all here.
And it's good.
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Yes, I really DO want to know how it's going....and, I am enjoying these posts as you document the progress. A puzzle...good analogy. And, that deck...great job, Matt (and all the helpers). Hugs, Camille
