Our family loves the library!! We borrowed this book from the library and we found some very striking similarities in it! We had a lot of fun reading it. Well, the younger ones enjoyed me reading it to them, anyway. This isn't the whole book so if you have little people that love being read to, you should look for it at the library. It's called "Building Our House", by Jonathon Bean.
I love how the mom is wearing a skirt!! :-)
Must give credit where it is due.
"My family is building our new house away from the road, back down a dirt lane."
"Our house will sit in the middle of a weedy field Dad and Mom bought from a farmer".
"My family makes up a strong crew of four and we have a truck named Willys. My brother helps Dad carry the tools. 'The right tools for the right job,' says Dad."
"We will live in this small home on wheels while we build our new house."
"During the week, Dad goes to his job in town, but on the weekend he starts up Willys and everyone jumps in. We go to buy stacks of lumber from the sawmill."
"We bring loads of sand and stones from the quarry."
"The bad weather slows our work but doesn't stop it."
"When the weather warms, the ground softens and Grandpa visits with his backhoe. "Are you ready to dig?' he calls."
"We work on weekends."
"We work in the evenings.
"A moving party."
Our crew just happens to be nine instead of four and our truck doesn't have a name (our van does though) but otherwise, it's pretty close. Their house actually even looks likes ours. We also, are looking forward to the moving party day!! When it got to the part about Grandpa coming with his backhoe, we replaced it with Grandpa came in his RV and brought Grandma too to help put the new garden in. It's not too much of a stretch, is it? Grandma and Grandpa, if you are reading this, we are looking forward to seeing you. When the weather warms and the ground softens, of course!
Well, the crane is booked for tomorrow to put the trusses up. It also may snow tomorrow. I'm learning not to be surprised at these 'coincidences'. I'm hoping to have a good report after the weekend. If you would like to pray for us, we would really appreciate it!!
Hope you have a great weekend and hope your house is also built upon a Rock!!
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood rose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Luke 6:48
